Your time in Bhutan will be divided between Amanresorts’ 5 luxury, all-suite Amankora properties. Day 1

Delhi to Thimphu (via Paro)

Following an unforgettable flight over the Himalayas from Delhi you will arrive in Paro, where you will then be transferred to Amankora Thimphufor a 2 night stay. Spend the afternoon visiting the museums or the National Library before browsing the main street for interesting Himalayan artefacts and textiles.
Day 2

Thimphu

Today you will take a short hike to Cheri Goemba, then visit the 16th century Pangri Zampa, which now houses a training school for astrologers, followed by the seat of Bhutan’s government and Royal offices; Trashi Chhoe Dzong.
Day 3

Thimphu to Punakha

Depart early this morning for a dramatic drive via the Dochu La Pass to Amankora Punakhafor a 2 night stay.
Day 4

Punakha

Take a morning hike to the stunning Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten and the impressive Punakha Dzong. Enjoy a private riverside barbecue, followed by archery or a Bhutanese cooking class.
Day 5

Punakha to Gangtey

Today you will drive through the magnificent valley before arriving at Amankora Gangteyfor a 2 night stay. Visit the striking Gangtey Goemba and stroll through quaint Gangtey Village, with a possible audience with the revered Trulkul.
Day 6

Gangtey

Begin the day with a nature trail through flower meadows or visit the Black Neck Crane Centre before venturing for a walk or bicycle ride, followed by a traditional hot stone bath to relax.
Days 7 and 8

Gangtey to Bumthang

Enjoy a scenic journey to Amankora Bumthang for a 3 night stay. After a brief stop at Chendebji Chorten, you will visit Trongsa Dzong, the ancestral home to Bhutan’s monarch, followed by a trip to watch Yathra weaving in the Chhume Valley. Explore the palace of Wangdichhoeling before heading up the valley to the grand Kurjey Lhakhang, passing the auspicious prayer wheels as you go. Back in town, visit Tamshing Monastery before exploring the valley’s unique local cottage industries.
Day 9

Bumthang

Take an excursion to the beautiful, seldom- visited Tang Valley, home to several off-the-beaten path lhakhangs and monasteries, along with the museum at Ugen Chhoeling Palace. Enjoy a picnic while taking in the spectacular views.
Day 10

Bumthang to Paro

Journey back by air to Amankora Parofor 3 nights. In the afternoon, stroll to the nearby ruins, visit some of the valley’s oldest and holiest religious monuments or amble down Paro’s main street. At night, listen to informative lectures on the region or watch a film set in the Himalayas.
Day 11

Paro

Today you will hike to ‘Tiger’s Nest’, taking in the spectacular views of this sacred, cliffside monastery. This afternoon enjoy visits to the National Museum and Paro Dzong learning about the rich heritage of the Kingdom, followed by a picturesque picnic or farmhouse lunch with a local family.
Day 12

Paro to Delhi

Following breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
