Amankora Punakha
Set within an orange orchard by the Mo Chhu River, Amankora Punakha is a peaceful sanctuary in Bhutan’s subtropical heartland. Housed in a renovated, 300-year-old farmhouse, it features elegant suites, serene spa rituals and tailor-made excursions into the kingdom’s cultural core.
Accessed via a miniature suspension bridge with fluttering prayer flags, Amankora Punakha is built around a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse housing 12 suites with views across the rice fields and the valley, including two Mo Chhu Suites that feature spacious living areas and can be combined to offer two bedrooms.
Dine on Western and Bhutanese cuisine in the farmhouse, relax in the two-storey spa, take a dip in the outdoor infinity pool, enjoy a picnic by the river and explore Punakha valley, home to one of Bhutan’s most impressive monastery fortresses.
