Day 1

London to Hanoi

Fly overnight to Hanoi, and upon arrival, after fast-track services through the airport, check in at the Sofitel Legend Metropole for a three-night stay.
Days 2-3

Hanoi

Spend two full days in Vietnam’s historic capital with a private guide. Explore the landmarks of Hanoi and immerse yourself in the local culture and lifestyle. With a turbulent past, international influences, and a vibrant modern outlook, this busy and fascinating city offers much to discover.

Travel by vintage jeep through the Old Quarter, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and explore the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature. Your guide will also take you to hidden parts of the city and a local restaurant for lunch, showcasing how integral food is to Hanoi’s daily life.

Day three is a free day for you to explore at your own pace. In the evening, meet your guide for a street food walking tour through Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Sample northern Vietnamese cuisine as you navigate the maze of streets leading to Hoan Kiem Lake and a hidden cafe.
Day 4

Halong Bay

Travel to the coast to see the famous Halong Bay – the Bay of the Descending Dragon.

Sail to Lan Ha Bay, escaping the busy areas frequently used by daytrip boats. Travel in style on the Heritage Line Ginger junk, enjoying delicious food and shore activities, which include visits to Cat Ba Island, kayaking in the bay, as well as tai chi and cooking demonstrations on the boat.
Days 5-7

Hoi An

Rise at dawn to experience the tranquillity of Halong Bay and enjoy a leisurely breakfast afloat, surrounded by dramatic scenery.

Later, transfer to Hanoi airport for a short flight to Da Nang and then on to Hoi An. This sleepy old port town, with its preserved historic buildings and narrow streets, has become one of Vietnam’s cultural hubs. Stay within walking distance of the old town at Anantara Hoi An, providing the ideal opportunity for shopping, exploring, or relaxing in a cafe and watching the world go by.

Excursions to the countryside surrounding Hoi An are included. Witness timeless traditions and village life away from the busy cities. Cycle through rural lanes and get hands-on with tending the crops before stopping for a delicious lunch of fresh organic ingredients, Vietnamese style.

Take a half-day visit to the ancient 7th-century temples of My Son. Along the way, stop in small villages to see local markets and traditional houses in the heart of rural central Vietnam.
Day 8

The Vietage Train to Quy Nhon

Travel in style from Da Nang to Quy Nhon on the Vietage train. Embrace the romance of rail travel on a journey through mountains and along the coast, linking historic Hoi An with the sparkling shores of Quy Nhon.

The Vietage train combines the charm of the golden age of rail travel with modern comfort on this full-day journey. Enjoy a gourmet three-course meal, relax with free-flowing wine or a specially crafted cocktail, and soak in the scenery of this off-the-beaten-path region.

Arrive in the resort town of Quy Nhon and stay in the luxurious all-villa sanctuary of Anantara Quy Nhon Villas for four nights.
Days 9-11

Quy Nhon

Relax on the resort’s private stretch of beach, one of the most exclusive in Vietnam, indulge in great food or book in for a treatment at the excellent spa.
Days 12-14

Ho Chi Minh City

Fly to Ho Chi Minh City and check in to the Park Hyatt, an ideal location to explore one of Asia’s fastest-developing cities. Despite its rapid growth, the city retains a distinctly Vietnamese flavour and offers many hidden surprises.

Travel by river to the Cu Chi Tunnels to discover how the Viet Cong lived and fought during the Vietnam War. Back in the city, enjoy lunch on the river, then hop on a vintage Vespa to explore the historic areas. Visit the French colonial district and head towards Independence Palace, which witnessed the final days of the Vietnam War.

On your final day, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
