Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Curio Collection by Hilton
Located a mile east of The Strip, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is a great choice for families and couples looking to unwind away from the main boulevard.
The hotel takes its inspiration from the desert surroundings – complete with towering Saguaro cacti – and has more of the feel of a desert resort than a flashy casino hotel. The slot machines and gaming tables are still there of course, on the casino floor past the sunlit lobby, but beyond that lies a range of resort-style features, including a large family pool area with oversized daybeds, private cabanas and an artificial beach. There is also an adults-only pool with a lively Mediterranean-beach-club vibe, plus a full-service spa, a Roman-style bathhouse and 24-hour fitness centre.
Epic concerts are sometimes held outside on the large Event Lawn, with further entertainment on offer at the indoor concert theatre and intimate live music venue, 24 Oxford, a nod to Virgin Records’ first store in London. Dining is even more eclectic, with a choice of 14 restaurants and lounges to choose from, spanning everything from ice-cream parlours and pizzerias to fine-dining restaurants and the cosy Shag Room, a Moroccan-inspired lounge complete with velvet sofas and a handful of private alcoves.
Rooms, or ‘chambers’ as they’re called here, feature groovy sitting areas, king-size beds with Virgin Hotels’ signature ‘nook’ at the end, bold artwork on the walls and views either of the pool or the bright lights of Vegas. The most luxurious of all are the suites in the Ruby Tower, which also benefits from its own private entrance just off the casino floor.
