Six Senses Ibiza
Tucked away on the peaceful and private northern tip of the island, the brand new Six Senses Ibiza brings a heady combination of luxury, spirituality, sustainability and fun to the famous White Isle.
Spread across 20 stunning acres of wild coastal landscape, the hotel has been built using locally sourced materials and finished off with authentic yet strikingly modern décor. Patrons can choose from 116 guest accommodations, including fully appointed village suites, sea-view suites with private decks, beach cave suites and two extraordinary mansions.
Open year-round, the resort has shunned Ibiza’s hedonistic party reputation in favour of a more wellness-focussed approach, which starts with its own organic farm. Set in a 400-year-old olive press and agricultural estate, the farm will host pop-up events by drop-in guest chefs, and supplies the fresh produce for the resort’s restaurants, café and juice bar.
Fitness, boxing, beachfront yoga and fully immersive multi-day retreats all add to the wellness offering, as of course does the Six Senses Spa, which has a range of treatments that go beyond the ordinary, as well as a hammam, steam room and infra-red sauna. Art and photography will be on display in the hotel’s galleries, while sustainable fashion will be showcased at the Agora shopping complex.
That’s not to say that you can’t let your hair down. The resort pays homage to Ibiza’s musical roots with its own hidden recording studio and the shorefront Beach Caves music venue, which hosts live events, guests DJs and the latest emerging artists.
Cycling, paddle boarding, boat trips and other watersports are among the activities on offer, and families can take advantage of clubs for kids and teenagers. Both Cala Xarraca and Cala Xuclar make for wonderful beach days, and it’s always worth a visit to Ibiza Old Town, which is protected by UNESCO.
