NIHI Sumba

Located on the edge of wildness on culturally distinct Sumba Island, NIHI Sumba offers almost 2 kilometres of dramatically secluded beach. Its 27 villas, each with a private pool, blend natural elegance with distinctive luxury. This is a base for adventure, activity, wellness and reconnecting in a spectacular, remote place.

Accessed via a short flight from Bali, this scenic corner of the world features 1.5 miles of private beach and nearly 670 acres of lush landscape, providing the perfect backdrop for a romantic or active getaway. Among the tropical foliage lie 27 villas of varying size and layout, ranging from one to five bedrooms and each with private pool. Inside the villas you will discover natural elements, creating light bright spaces with a nod to both local heritage and the great outdoors. Savour a variety of dining options, from Indonesian or international cuisine at Ombak and casual fare at Nio Beach Club, to fresh snacks and cocktails at the Boat House. Here you will also find the resort’s range of spa treatments; or try daily complimentary Yoga sessions at the Yoga Pavilion and workouts in the studio gym.

For something more exotic, embark on a ‘Spa Safari’ in the neighbouring valley, with unlimited spa treatments in cliff top bamboo ‘Bales’. Take to the ocean waters for snorkelling, diving and fishing, plus ocean and river kayaking and thrilling ‘surfaris’. Back on land, head off hiking, mountain biking and horse riding, visit local villages and markets and indulge in a tour of Chris and Charly’s Chocolate Factory to partake in chocolate making or fun activities for younger guests.
