La Fiermontina Ocean
Located on the north-west coast of Morocco in the province of Larache, just 45 minutes south of Tangier, La Fiermontina Ocean is a remote and stunning eco-retreat whose delightful suites and villas and traditional stone houses are set back from the beach among olive groves and orchards.
The hotel (a sister property to La Fiermontina in Puglia, Italy) is helping to put this forgotten, sun-drenched corner of Morocco on the map, while simultaneously protecting the authenticity of the region and its rural communities through important development projects.
The charming one- and two-bedroom suites and three-bedroom villas are all integrated within nature, clad in local stone with pretty private gardens. All feature large panoramic windows and ocean-facing terraces with large private infinity pools. Guests also have the option of staying in one of the four traditional stone houses built using ancestral techniques in the small village of Dchier, just 800 metres from the entrance to the hotel, with views over a luscious green valley.
The Lounge Restaurant serves the best of both Italian and Moroccan cuisine beside breathtaking ocean views, while a 20-minute walk away (or a 10-minute shuttle drive), the secluded Beach Club offers freshly caught fish, sandwiches and salads on the broad golden sands of the wild Atlantic coast. The hotel spa (located in the village) features a yoga area, two treatment rooms and two traditional hammams, and activities range from cooking classes to guided local treks and sunset picnics.
