Hotel Savoy, a Rocco Forte Hotel
Hotel Savoy’s super central location between the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio is a hard one to beat. But it’s by no means the only reason to choose this elegant and refined member of the Rocco Forte stable. Excellent service, a relaxed bistro-style restaurant with a piazza-facing terrace, and classic interiors given a bright modern twist are all reasons to linger before heading out to discover all that Florence has to offer.
Rooms are a good size, especially for a city centre hotel, and feature bleached oak floors and pretty wallpapers. It’s worth upgrading to a suite if you can though. Leaving aside the vast Duomo Presidential Suite, which occupies its own wing, top picks include the Artist Suite, complete with in-room bar, marble bathroom and beautiful works of art from renowned contemporary artists; and the Repubblica Suite, with its private balconies and wonderful views of the Piazza della Repubblica after which the suite is named.
