Elephant Hills
Set in the heart of Khao Sok National Park in southern Thailand, Elephant Hills takes intrepid travellers back to nature with a tented camp experience to remember. Embrace the wild allure of the jungle, surrounded by the tropical charm of one of the world’s oldest rainforests.
Discover two unique tented camps, Elephant Camp, an Africa-inspired camp at the foot of the mountains, and the floating Rainforest Camp, set on the emerald-green waters of Cheow Larn Lake in the heart of the park. Each offers a rare sense of remoteness combined with simple contemporary comforts, providing guests with a real sense of peace and tranquility.
Rainforest Camp is one of the few floating tented camps in the world and is home to 20 safari tents with en-suite bathrooms, all designed to be at one with nature using wind and solar energy. At Elephant Camp you will find a semi-open-air restaurant and bar plus a pool with views of the magnificent cliffs.
Guests can choose from three different itinerary options ranging in length from one to three nights. Two are based out of Elephant Camp while the third – our recommended option for couples and honeymooners – also includes a night at Rainforest Camp. All are full board and include the services of an English-speaking guide and a range of jungle activities.
As its name suggests, elephants are a big draw here, with ethical, eco-conscious opportunities to get close to these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. But there are plenty of other soft-adventure options too, including paddling downriver in a canoe, exploring mysterious mangroves and heading into the jungle on hikes and guided walks, where you can marvel at the breathtaking scenery dotted with striking limestone formations.
