Canaves Sunday

The very definition of a luxury boutique hotel, Canaves Sunday is a complex of just eight luxurious suites in the centre of sophisticated Oia, offering panoramic views of the island’s famed caldera. It can even be rented in its entirety – for the ultimate multi-generational Santorini blowout.

The hotel is in a superb location, very close to Oia’s centre and just steps from its shop- and café-lined pedestrian pathway. From the entrance, steps coil down to a blissfully private infinity pool with the kind of awe-inspiring views that doubtless lured you here in the first place.

The eight suites are divided between four categories. Deluxe Suites are nearer to reception so have fewer steps to climb. Grand Suites have two bedrooms so are ideal for families or friends travelling together. The Master Suites, with their huge terraces and private infinity pools, are well worth the climb down the hill. While Honeymoon Suites boast an outdoor hot tub and circular bathrooms with double rain showers. All feature beautiful handmade furniture, fairy-tale courtyards, white-on-white décor with pops of colourful artwork, and private terraces with stunning caldera views.

The Veranda restaurant offers arresting 360-degree views, with Oia on one side, Imerovigil on the other and the caldera and its islands in between. Head there at sunset for champagne, tapas and signature cocktails, or book a table for dinner and tuck into a fusion of Japanese and Greek cooking.
