Brunelleschi Hotel
Home to the two-Michelin-star Santa Elisabetta restaurant and built around an ancient church and a 6th-century round stone tower, Brunelleschi Hotel enjoys a superb location in the heart of medieval Florence, a stone’s throw from the Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo.
Original features like exposed brick walls, wooden beams and stone arches give the hotel real character, but they’ve been carefully woven around modern guest facilities, including an elegant cocktail bar housed within the tower, a good-sized gym and sound-proofed rooms with polished parquet floors and touches of silk and velvet. Smartest of all are the suites, especially the Pagliazza Tower Suite with its round bed and views of Florence’s famous cathedral, or the Pool Suite with its four-poster bed, private terrace and hot tub.
Not content with a two-Michelin-star restaurant, the hotel is also home to Osteria Pagliazza, another of Florence’s most venerated restaurants, located on the ground floor of the Byzantine tower.
