Azerai Ke Ga Bay
Framed to the east by Hon Ba Island and its historic lighthouse, and to the west by soaring sand dunes, Azerai Ke Ga Bay is an elegant beach resort set in 4.5 hectares of verdant gardens, around 180 kilometres east of Ho Cho Minh City. Minimalist in style (it’s the brainchild, after all, of Adrian Zecha, founder of Aman Resorts), the focus here is less on the glossy white décor and more on the secluded oceanfront setting, the five-kilometre sweep of near-perfect white sand, the lush ginger gardens and dragon fruit plantations.
Rooms capitalise on the resort’s spaciousness, offering a minimum of 65 square metres to relax in, with larger suites and villas offering private pools to boot. Staff are perfectly attuned to the wishes and whims of guests, ingredients in restaurant dishes are more often than not either fished or grown locally, spa therapists practice age-old Vietnamese healing techniques, and activities range from tours of the surrounding area to fishing trips with locals in traditional, round basket boats.
