Days 2-3
Bangkok
Take to the river on a private longtail boat and discover how Bangkok is a city built on water. Visit the Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn, journey through a web of canals to see old neighbourhoods hidden amid the bustling modern city, and end with lunch at a favourite local restaurant.
Spend the next day exploring Bangkok on your own, perhaps visiting its boho new riverside districts. Take a trip upriver to see the ancient city of Ayutthaya, book an evening river cruise with dinner, or simply spend time enjoying the hotel and its fabulous facilities. -
Day 4
Bangkok to Chiang Mai
Fly to Chiang Mai, Thailand’s ancient northern city where various hill tribes have gathered and traded for centuries. Now a bustling traveller centre, it’s ideal for picking up high-quality souvenirs and for watching the world go by from family-owned cafes. Check in for three nights at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai in the pretty Mae Rim Valley, a 30-minute car ride from the centre of town. Set amid luscious gardens dotted with lily ponds, it’s the perfect base from which to explore the countryside and surrounding hills.
