Arrive and transfer to The Ritz-Carlton, Portland, your base for two nights. Visit in June and you’ll see why Portland is the ‘City of Roses’, its public gardens overflowing with blooms. But there’s much to enjoy whatever the time of year, from the booming coffee and microbrewery scenes to farmers markets, leafy parks and hipster cafes to rival San Francisco.

Days 3-4
Cannon Beach
Collect your hire car from downtown Portland and head to Cannon Beach, one of northern Oregon’s most beautiful seaside villages. The sandy shore stretches for miles here, interrupted by massive basalt sea stacks like iconic Haystack Rock. Nowhere is the area’s charm better exemplified than at Stephanie Inn, arguably the coast’s most romantic retreat and your home for two nights.

Days 5-6
Pacific City
Follow the legendary Highway 101 south to Pacific City and check in for two nights at Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa. A great side trip off the highway is the Three Capes Scenic Loop, which leads to stunning views at Cape Meares, Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda. Climb the sand dune at the latter, just north of the hotel, to witness the raw power of the crashing Pacific Ocean.
