This 17th-century palazzo has been daringly transformed into a high-design boutique hotel, just a five-minute walk from St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master’s Palace.

The 25 rooms and suites are divided into six categories and ultra-modern in their design. Each is different with designer flourishes ranging from monochromatic colour schemes and large floral-print wallpapers to chequered marble floors and freestanding bathtubs. Some suites even come with their own private sauna and meditation terrace, while all offer access to the hotel’s pleasant rooftop terrace, complete with deckchairs, bar, restaurant, plunge pool and panoramic views.

For many, though, the highlight is the haute cuisine restaurant Under Grain, one of only five restaurants in Malta to receive a Michelin Star in 2023. For more casual dining, head to Grain Street, whose delicious sharing plates are designed by the same Michelin-starred team.
