Palacio Can Marqués Grand Luxe by Puro
“Why stay in a hotel when you can live in a palace?” asks the team behind Palacio Can Marqués, an authentic palace turned luxury hotel in the atmospheric old town of Mallorca’s capital, Palma.
What began life as the 18th-century palace of Antonio Massa, privateer captain and guardian of the cathedral in Palma, is now one of the city’s most romantic and historic hotels, home to 13 unique suites, including the island’s largest, The Riad, complete with three bedrooms, a vast living area and a rooftop terrace. The other 12 are secreted about the property and blend contemporary style with more than a nod to the building’s rich history. Think graceful stone arches, beamed ceilings, Murano lighting, hand-crafted furniture and statement works of art.
Dining highlights include Beatnik Restaurant & Bar, an eclectic cuisine concept that takes influence from all across the world, including the Mediterranean, Asia and Latin America; and The Merchants, a fun take on the classic steak house, serving fine cuts of meat and freshly caught lobster beneath vaulted stone ceilings. Breakfast is served in the pretty and peaceful garden, which together with a SeaSkin Life spa, round out the facilities.
