Our travel advisers are true 'specialists' - most have over 20 years experience in the industry - and travel regularly to the destinations and properties within our portfolio. This first-hand, up-to-date and intimate knowledge means that they can truly advise you; from the most suitable room to that exhilarating place to snorkel, or from the ultimate honeymoon location to that suitably challenging golf course!

Our close working relationships with all of our partners means that every effort is made to confirm even the smallest of special requests. The Team

For us the immediate answer is 'our people'. In creating the company it was our intention to build an infrastructure and team with the skill sets, experience, relationships and reputations necessary to meet the company’s key objective of being the leading luxury specialist operator fully supporting the travel trade. We have a strong team spirit borne from regular staff meetings, social nights and overall team sales objectives rather than individual targets. As a business we encourage the whole team to be involved, through regular marketing and business development meetings, in the key decisions and strategic plans facing the company.

Our team are united in their commitment to business growth and service improvement, but they’re also a really nice bunch to work alongside. We are in the fortunate position that we work with our friends, and you can’t ask for more than that.

The Local Area

Our office enjoys an enviable location in the bustling town of Alderley Edge. Boasting direct train links to Crewe, Wilmslow and Stockport, you can be in the centre of Manchester in just over half an hour. There are many nice restaurants and bars, soon to be three supermarkets (Tesco, Co-op and Waitrose), two chemists, a post office, banks (RBS, Natwest, Barclays and HSBC) and an exclusive continental bakers that has them queuing out the door!

James Weaver

Managing Director


Following valuable experience gained at a market leading investment services company, James became the Managing Director of a successful luxury retail travel company. In more recent years he saw the potential for a specialist luxury tour operator focused solely on the needs and support of the UK retail travel trade, which led to the creation of Lusso.

Mark Hibbert

Director


A founding member of the Lusso team, Mark’s career in travel spans 23 years, with the 15 years prior to Lusso spent working for a competitor luxury tour operator as part of their Senior Management. Mark has vast experience of the luxury travel sector and is responsible for our Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf and India Programme.

Gareth Hulmston

Sales Director


A founding member of the Lusso team, Gareth spent 14 years at British Airways followed by 9 years as Sales Manager at a luxury tour operator developing and managing a sales team that was successful in achieving significant growth. Gareth is passionate about luxury retail travel, covering thousands of miles each year visiting travel agents all over the UK, as well as managing relationships with key consortia and trade bodies such as AITO.


Linda Bellis

Director


A founding member of the Lusso team, boasting extensive experience of the luxury travel sector and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Caribbean, Linda is responsible for our Caribbean, Mexico and Bermuda programme. Having also headed the Aviation department of a large luxury tour operator, Linda manages the relationships with all of our key airline partners.

Daniel Bowett

Technology Director


With a degree in Computer Science (BSc), Dan has 10 years experience working with some of the world’s largest companies and brands including Marvel, Guinness, Bacardi and Ancestry. More recently Dan managed all IT delivery of Disney e-commerce fulfilment operations across Europe overseeing a ten-fold growth in 4 years. He ensures that Lusso employs the latest and most progressive technology in support of our business needs.

Steve Haigh

Financial Controller


Steve, our numbers man, has held numerous management accounting roles both external to and within the travel industry. Before joining Lusso in August 2010 he held the role of Financial Controller for the management services company of one of the UK’s wealthiest entrepreneurs.

Rebecca Askwith

Senior Travel Advisor


Rebecca brings to Lusso over 20 years of travel experience. Throughout this time Rebecca has specialised in selling the Indian Ocean, Middle East, Far East and Australasia. Rebecca has a real passion for travel and is dedicated to the constant expansion of her luxury travel knowledge: she once flew to Bali for a weekend to inspect a new hotel!

Tanayia Lawton

Senior Travel Advisor


As a teenager Tanayia was bitten by the travelling bug and has several world trips under her belt. She worked for a competitor luxury tour operator before moving to Lusso, bringing with her an excellent knowledge of our product areas, particularly the Indian Ocean.

Julie Hammond

Reservations Manager


Specialising in the Caribbean and Mexico, Julie has amassed over 20 years experience within the travel industry. Previously the Caribbean Reservations Manager at another leading luxury tour operator, Julie has recently travelled throughout the Middle East and Indian Ocean adding to her already extensive luxury travel knowledge.

Danielle Walker

Senior Travel Advisor


Danielle has over 13 years tour operating experience specialising in the Caribbean, USA and Far East. Since joining Lusso, she has further expanded her luxury travel knowledge with in-depth trips to the Seychelles and Oman. Danielle has previously taken air travel to new heights with a 14,000ft parachute jump for charity.

Andrew Dawson

Senior Travel Advisor


A keen skier, Andy spent 20 years as a travel agent in various roles, some managerial, before moving into luxury tour operating where he has been the past 8 years. During this time he sold across the worldwide portfolio and has travelled to luxury hotels throughout the Indian Ocean, Middle East, Europe and the Caribbean. Andy also played a key role in the development of his previous employer’s luxury ski programme.

Prue Rushmer

Sales Representation


Prue's travel career spans over 30 years beginning with the Meon Travel Group. Prue was then an integral member of the team that set up long-haul specialist, Silk Cut Travel. In 2000 she started her own representation company (PRP) promoting two leading tour operators specialising in the Caribbean and Indian Ocean. Prue is exceptionally passionate and well travelled, with an in-depth knowledge of the Indian Ocean, Far East and the Caribbean.

Uma Campbell

Product Manager


Uma came to Lusso in August 2010 having acquired over 18 years experience within the travel industry, including reservations, tour operating and product, at companies such as Carrier and the Emirates Group. Uma manages the Product department, overseeing hotel contracts, special offers and our annual brochure production.

Hayley Rickarby-Hancox

Product Coordinator


Following almost 2 years at a luxury retail travel company and 7 years experience in total within the luxury travel sector, Hayley joined our Product department in 2011. She has excellent knowledge of our featured destinations, particularly the Caribbean, and supports Uma in managing hotel relationships, supplier contracts and company rate sheet development.

Jessica Weaver

Marketing Executive


A recent graduate of The University of Edinburgh, Jessica joined Lusso as Marketing Executive with a Masters Degree in History. With a love of writing she is the company’s primary copywriter and is a keen traveller herself.

Laura Rydings

Airline Ticketing Administrator


Laura has over 20 years experience in the travel industry, comprising reservations, business travel and in the last 10 years airfares and ticketing. She is responsible for all IATA airfares and BSP ticketing and works closely with Product and Reservations.

Carin Hall

Human Resouces / Administration


Carin graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 2003 with a Masters Degree in Business Studies. She is part CIPD qualified and is currently working towards graduate membership. Prior to joining Lusso, Carin held the position of HR Manager at an award-winning business telecoms provider.

Julie Smith

Administrator


A skilled administrator, Julie’s prior experience includes another luxury tour operator as well as the civil service and a large retailer. Since she joined in November 2011, Julie has become a key member of Lusso, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of invoices, itineraries and general administrative tasks.
